How the work is made

Methodology

A source-first editorial process designed to make each claim inspectable.

The Singularity Signals Index is still being designed. No score is published yet. The full method, weights, and event log will be public before any number appears.

The editorial chain

  1. FindMonitor a curated set of papers, labs, datasets, and institutions.
  2. FilterKeep items that could materially change the evidence, not merely the news cycle.
  3. GroundAttach each factual claim to the exact source passage that supports it.
  4. LabelSeparate reported fact from editorial judgment and open questions.
  5. ApproveA person reads and explicitly approves the finished issue before publication.

What the future Index will measure

The candidate inputs are benchmark records, compute milestones, agent autonomy demonstrations, AI contributions to research, and public capability disclosures. A useful index must show its components, not hide them behind a single authoritative-looking number.

Commitments made in advance

What the process cannot prove

A careful event log can show that measured capabilities or deployment patterns changed. It cannot establish a date for AGI or the singularity, and this publication does not make those predictions. The aim is narrower: make the evidence easier to see and harder to overstate.
